Id be lying if I said I wasnt nervous/anxious in the months/weeks leading up to the camp but the experience itself brought the dream to life and has left me wanting to more and less afraid to get out and explore where Jiu Jitsu can take me. My excuse to go to Austria was to visit a friend I met through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and it was ideal that the BJJ Globetrotters Winter Camp happened to be on at the same time. I couldnt possibly tag all the great instructors, but egos were checked at the door, and everyone just trained got better. I loved it so much, that day by day Im currently trying to duplicate the same atmosphere in my academy in Sicily! Long story short, I had a blast. Michelle, Singapore. A lot of laughing, shit-talking, playing Go, whirlpool relaxing and love. I couldnt have asked for more, and yet I felt I left with more than I couldve imagined. I had the chance to combine my two greatest passions in life, BJJ and skiing, in the enchanting atmosphere of the snowy Austrian mountains. Cant wait to see what the journey brings, and it was a true pleasure meeting all of you. Way too much alcohol, way too tired but so much fun on/off the mats. Being immersed in BJJ for a week non-stop, being exposed to different techniques and methodologies of training, has improved my game immeasurably, and Ive met some incredible people whilst doing so. About a month has passed since the camp, and that strong inspiration the Globetrotters gave me for sure has helped me to recently qualify for the European ADCC trials! I was overwhelmed by the camaraderie and welcoming vibes of everyone there.
